Attorney Jason Ballard is skilled at both civil and criminal litigation.  He formerly served as a military prosecutor and defense attorney for over a decade in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps.  Attorney Ballard prosecuted and defended hundreds of crimes involving murder; manslaughter; sexual assault; drug use, possession, and distribution; simple and domestic assault; possession, manufacture, and distribution of child pornography; statutory rape, weapons-related charges; burglary; terrorism-related offenses; financial crimes; traffic violations; driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs; conspiracy; and destruction of property.

  • American Bar Association (ABA) Outstanding Young Lawyer for the U.S. Army Award Recipient.  In 2011 and 2012, while on active duty with the U.S. Army, then-Captain Ballard commanded the Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Legal Center and School’s Student Detachment.  Attorney Ballard carries the distinction of being the first Army JAG in the Corps’ history to serve as the commander.  He was selected by the ABA as the #1 Young Lawyer for the U.S. Army based on his leadership while in command as well as his combat tours to both Afghanistan and Iraq with the historic 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry).
